Large, coarsely growing deciduous shrub excellent for naturalized settings. Wide spreading branches are covered with velvety hair (hence the namesake). Fern-like foliage turns brilliant orange-red fall foliage and clusters of fuzzy dark red fruit that persists through winter add seasonal interest.
